NENUPHAR Annual Networking Event – Circular solutions and Belgian Brews

Around 50 participants gathered on 28 April 2026 in Brussels for the NENUPHAR Annual Networking Event, an evening dedicated to exchange, collaboration, and community-building around nutrient recycling and circular economy solutions.

Hosted at Au Bassin, the event, organised by the NENUPHAR project, brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including EU project representatives, policymakers, researchers, NGOs, and practitioners.

The programme combined knowledge-sharing with a relaxed atmosphere. Throughout the evening, participants explored a project exhibition space featuring posters and video presentations from NENUPHAR and related initiatives. A lively pub quiz added an engaging twist, encouraging collaboration and friendly competition across mixed teams, while highlighting topics such as science, circular economy, and local culture.

By the way, did you know that only 3% of water on Earth is freshwater? And that only 0.5% of it is directly available to human consumption?

The event concluded with an open networking session over food and drinks, giving attendees the opportunity to exchange ideas, spark new partnerships, and continue discussions in a convivial setting.

Overall, the evening successfully fostered meaningful connections and showcased the growing momentum behind nutrient recycling and environmental governance efforts across Europe.
