Danube River Basin: Cross-border visit of Danube River Basin partners

On November 8, 2024, the team of Prof. Ľuboš Jurík (SUA) hosted NENUPHAR partners from the Széchenyi István University (SZE). The meeting was held at the Institute of Landscape Engineering of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. The partners discussed various common tasks with the NENUPHAR project. Colleagues from SZE team shared their experience and know-how on their pilot solution of nutrient recovery from dairy wastewater that includes a combination of ozonation and filtration technologies.  SUA partners informed in detail about the status of developing technology for nutrient recovery from dairy wastewater using algae. Further, the list of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Danube River demo site was discussed as well as other shared tasks. The preliminary outline for the first joint Community of Members workshop was drawn up.

Visitors could see also a brief demonstration of algae biomass production and its use for nutrient absorption.
